Founded in 1964, the Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival is Leavenworth's original festival, a three-day celebration of the turning fall colors that flood the Bavarian village and the countryside around it. Held each autumn, the whole weekend fills with activities and events, anchored by the Grand Parade and the pageantry of the Royal Lady and Royal Bavarians. More than a party, the festival helped transform Leavenworth from a fading logging and railroad town into the thriving tourist destination it is today, and it is now one of the premier events in the Northwest. Expect breathtaking scenery, family activities, and genuine community pride across all three days.
